Four suspects Daniel Kisseka Kiwanuka, John Kibuuka , Nasur Abdallah Mugonole, and John Musajagge who were nabbed last week for alleged murder of Joan Kagezi have been produced in court and charged with terrorism and murder.
They appeared before Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza at the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court.
The charges are related to the tragic shooting of former Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Namazzi Kagezi, on March 30, 2015. The suspects were not allowed to enter plea because the magistrate didint have the jurisdiction to try a capital offence like murder.
Chief Magistrate Kakooza remanded the suspects to Luzira prison until November 20, 2023 when their case will come up for mention .
The prosecution was led by Thomas Jatiko, an Assistant DPP, and Lilian Omara, a Chief state Attorney.
