Celebrated singer Irene Namatovu has taken pride in raising her husband Geoffrey Lutaaya’s children from his previous relationship, saying it has been one of the best decisions in her life.
Namatovu, during her TV interview, revealed that Geoffrey Lutaaya had two daughters before they started dating who were not biologically hers. However, she agreed to be in their lives and raise them as her own even before she became a mother.
“I have children that I found with my husband. If your husband tells you that his child is your child even when you didn’t give birth to them, if you love your man genuinely you will take them in. I raised them since they were young even when I was not at that age of being a mother. I raised them even when I hadn’t yet given birth,” she said.
Right now, the two children are all grown up, well-mannered, living in America, and have completed their studies. She revealed that they have continued to make her proud and appreciate the efforts she put in to raise them as their other mother.
“The children that have gone through my hands have been raised right. As a parent, I did not want people to say I’m segregating them. I’m so proud of them. I was raised by a step mother, so I know what it means. I’m so happy that I raised children who didn’t dsiapooiht me, they are well educated and living a good life which I’m 80% part of,” she said.

Namatouvu revealed that she has found fulfillment in raising her stepdaughters and believes that it is on this kindness that her own children have made it in life. She encouraged fellow women to always extend grace to their stepchildren, citing that the blessings will always extend to their biological offspring.
“That is the blessing that my biological children got. Those older children are the ones that bring that blessing. I ask my fellow women to raise their husband’s children because that blessing will go down to your own children,” she said.
