Singer Irene Namatovu has opened up about Grace Khan’s condition, saying that she is living a better life following her rehabilitation and making better choices.
Grace Khan has been in and out of different rehab centers over her battle with alcohol addiction and struggles that have continuously soiled her image, especially on social media. As her mother figure, Namatovu has always been one of her strongest pillars.
During her interview with BBS TV, Namatovu couldn’t help but notice the big change in Grace’s behavior ever since she left rehab earlier this year. She revealed that in the past, she on several occasions tried to talk to her about her addiction but in vain.
She recalled inviting some of the exemplary figures in the industry, like Lady Titi and Afrigo Band’s Joanitah Kawalya, to have a word with Grace, but she refused to heed their advice.
This time, however, she feels that she has completely changed and hopes that she won’t bounce back to her old ways.
“Grace Khan is well and when we had a conversation with her, she told me she had got new management. But she looks well and when I see her, I notice that she has changed. We just have to keep praying for her because for a long time we have talked to her. Grace is so talented and we were hurt because it was wasting away. By the time you saw her doing all these things, we had had different meetings behind closed doors with her. But this time around I think she has changed for good. We even went to different churches to pray with her. Going by what I see now, so far so good,” she said.

Namatovu issued a stern warning to all the people around Grace Khan who would influence her back into her old habits to stay away.
“I’m not saying that friends are bad but do not lead her astray. Leave her alone and I also told her to only copy good things from people to avoid going back to her old ways. People close to her should just keep talking and encouraging her; she will be okay,” she said.
