Ministry of Health has announced that all travelers arriving in Uganda will proceed to their destinations and self-isolate upon testing at Entebbe International Airport.
Health Minister told press yesterday that since 27th October 2021 when mandatory testing started at Entebbe International Airport, out of the 7,363 samples tested, a total of 34 turned positive for COVID-19.”
Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng revealed that at a sitting on 2nd November 2021, the COVID-19 Strategic Committee Meeting reviewed available information arising from the mandatory testing at Entebbe International Airport and resolved that with effect from today Friday, 5th November 2021, all inbound travelers will be allowed to proceed to their respective destinations after their samples have been removed and self-isolate until they receive their results.
Meanwhile, all inbound travelers are required to correctly fill the pre-registration health locator via https:/arrivals.healthdesk.go.ug prior to boarding the airlines to Entebbe International Airport.
Travelers are required to provide correct information for easy traceability.
Additionally, positive cases will be tracked and evacuated to the designated COVID-19 treatment units for appropriate management and care.
To date, the country had registered 126,407 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,224 fatalities. Additionally, the current admissions stand at 162 in public and private facilities, of whom 85 are in the severe and critical category.
