Renowned actor Jonathan Edwards Suubi, better known as Dr. Gordon Ssemagonja, has revealed that his breakup with actress Evelyn Namulondo broke him to the point that he now avoids relationships.
Dr. Gordon revealed that before he fully experienced what love was, he was innocent, sweet, and naive, and this made him a target of many girls who took advantage of him. He dated Namulondo for one and a half years and fully invested his emotions until the relationship crumbled.
“There was something and my heart was broken. The whole love thing was new to me because I grew up in the church and feared love so much because I found it strange. I slowly started getting to know it and treasured it so much. I was broken. It affected me so much up to today. I became a mafia of love,” he said.
He made it known that the breakup affected him terribly, and he spent more than three months crying for the love that he had lost. With this, he learnt to guard his heart by changing the way he approaches relationships.
Dr. Gordon added that he now avoids becoming deeply attached in relationships to protect himself from experiencing the same heartbreak again.
“It broke me terribly. People think it is a joke but even when I tell a girl that I love them, I know deep down in my heart they are lying to me and have some other men. I’m a mafia now. I stand in love but not really there. So that when things go south, I’m not there. When it is about genuine emotions, I run away. I avoid that stupidity. Love is madness.

Looking back at how he managed to pull through, he revealed that music, prayer, and time played a significant role in his healing process. Among the songs that comforted him was Goodlyfe’s Bwebiba Bwebityo. Right now, Gordon says he looks at Namulondo as a sister.
