Human Rights Lawyer Nicholas Opiyo Arrested

Opiyo is said to have been arrested from Kamwokya in Kampala and driven to an unknown destination.

Grounds for the arrest were yet to be established as security agencies had not yet commented on the matter.

However, his family members were quoted by media, confirming the arrest. These also revealed that they believed Opiyo was arrested by officers from the Chieftaincy of the Military Intelligence.

Police spokespersons had not response to our requests for comments.
