Gospel singer Grace Nakimera has opened up about why she ended a decade-long marriage with her baby daddy, Norwegian photographer Andre Ringen.
The ex-couple had been together for more than a decade, giving birth to their only daughter before they broke up.
Speaking during an interview with Deep Talk, Grace described their union as beautiful, and despite moving on with their lives, they were still raising their child together.
“I had a wonderful marriage and I had a child with my husband but at some point we separated. I moved on with my life and he moved on with his as well. We raised a very beautiful daughter. We both moved on. Most people are not with their first partners because things happen; the partners we start with are not the ones we end up with even when you imagine things would work out at the start,” she said.
When discussing what pushed her out of her marriage, Nakimera revealed it was the irreconcilable differences, describing herself as a big dreamer with big goals and visions.
She explained that she visualized her life years ahead, and she realized they didn’t share the same dreams and ambitions.

“I’m the kind of person who is a very big dreamer. That means when I see myself with you, I see the future 20, 30 years from now, grandchildren; I visualize all that. I was seeing afar but he was not. And then there was this glamour about me that he liked. This Grace; the star but not the dreams we had to put in place. Sometimes you want to build something with your partner and when you get to a certain age and there is nothing going on, it is very draining and you lose it,” she said.
