Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya has come out to respond to his illegitimate daughter Mellan, who came out on social media claiming he was a deadbeat dad.
During a phone call interview, Hon. Lutaaya acknowledged that Mellan is his daughter, but her coming out to the media was a move championed by malicious people. He revealed that he paid her full tuition at Stella Marris, Nsuube, because he thought the environment was suitable for her upbringing.
Her mother, however, claimed she didn’t like the school and decided to take her back to her former school. Mellan, who is currently an S.4 candidate, was shortly expelled from school for physically assaulting a teacher. The school emphasized that they would only allow her back to sit for her exams, but she was not allowed to attend classes.
“The mother had never called me to tell me about the expulsion. A parent alerted me about it. She got into another school, and they asked for 1.96 million for her to be around until exams. I had paid the money, but they kept asking,” he said.
Hon. Lutaaya claimed he had been denied the chance to spend quality time with his daughter. He publicly begged her mother to allow him to have her at his home to avoid all the drama and embarrassment in the media.

“She doesn’t deserve to be used like that. She is old enough, and I can take her with me. I want to introduce her to her clan. Have taken care of other people’s children; mine cannot fail me. I want my child,” he pleaded.
17-year-old Nambasa Mellaan Lutaaya came forward on TikTok, alleging that her father, Hon. Lutaaya, had refused to pay her school fees. She claimed efforts to reach out to him were all fruitless, leaving the media outcry as the last resort.
She claimed they had tried calling him, going to court, and using third parties to resolve the issue, but all to no avail.
