On 9 January, Entebbe Airport celebrated the arrival of Fly-SAX from Nairobi with a special ceremony in the terminal. Cutting the celebratory cake’s first slice are: Stephen Chebrot, Minister for Transport, Uganda; and Fly-SAX’s staff, including the Chairman, Charles Wako (left).
Fly-SAX, also known as East African Safari Air Express – Kenya’s premier safari and private charter airline, expanded its international offering with the addition of twice-daily flights between Nairobi (NBO) and Entebbe (EBB) on 9 January. The 521-kilometre sector to the major town in central Uganda will be served utilising the airline’s 50-seat CRJ 200s. This airport pair is already operated by Kenya Airways with five daily departures. Commenting on the achievement, Don Smith, CEO and Founder, Fly-SAX, said: “We are launching a new route to meet the ever-increasing demand for low-cost, efficient and safe air travel between Uganda and Kenya. Uganda forms part of our multi-hub strategy operating out of Nairobi and Mombasa, serving major cities in East Africa as well as the popular beach and safari destinations within Kenya.”
