Town Clerk urged the contractor to avoid substandard works and ensure they deliver top notch work.
The Undersecretary for Kampala Metropolitan affairs, Ms. Monica Edemachu, urged the Town Clerk to first inspect the machines before construction works start in order to avoid use of machines in dangerous mechanical conditions.
“I challenge the Town Clerk to first inspect the machines to avoid using machines which have mechanical problems and likely to delay the project works,” she said.
The Entebbe Municipality Mayor, Fabrice Brad Rulinda says the road once complete will provide an alternative route to Entebbe International Airport especially during rainy seasons when Kitubulu road usually floods.
Rulinda revealed that 179 out of 194 land owners (92%) gave consent to right of way while the remaining 8 % have not consented. He, however revealed that council has no compensation for the landlords but they have to consent and surrender a few inches for the road construction.
Rulinda vowed to forcefully evict those who occupied the road reserve.
