Musician Elijah Kitaka, real name Elijah Nsubuga Kitaka, has made it clear that he doesn’t dress up to impress the crowd but uses the chance to showcase his fashion sense.
Elijah Kitaka has been a force to be reckoned with on the fashion scene. Sometimes he comes out in cut outfits, making the most ridiculous fashion statements. Despite the criticism, Elijah Kitaka remains comfortable stepping out on stage to entertain his fans.
While addressing the negative comments on social media, the Swangz Avenue star expressed his nonchalant attitude, revealing that he has mastered the art of doing what makes him happy, minding less about what haters have to say.
“I do not care if people do not like my dressing. That is their business as long as I like it. Along the way, we’ve lost touch with friends. One thing I have learnt is to be alone. You alone know how you are surviving and what you are going through. I reached a point where I didn’t care what people thought about me. Do what makes me happy. I do not do things to please people because they also have their own lives,” he revealed.
Elijah is known for his daring style and is constantly pushing boundaries with his bold choices. His signature style is characterized by wearing short shorts, multiple facial piercings, and a preference for colors typically associated with the female gender. While netizens, mainly social media users, have misinterpreted his style, Kitaka asserts that it is simply a form of self-expression.

He believes that his daring move has championed some of the great fashion statements that are currently trending.
“Personally, I mind my business and do not respond to criticism. I continue to do what I love because it is where I have earned everything I have. Maybe if I hadn’t torn my clothes, people wouldn’t have loved fashion. If I hadn’t put on the short shorts, perhaps they would not have put them on, either.
It is moving with the business. It is okay to trend as long as it is not negative. People started putting them on because it was a trend. Even those who didn’t put them on before are now showing their legs. It is all freedom,” he said.
Elijah credited his friend, Emmanuel, with whom he crafts these outfits. He says he dresses according to the mood and occasion of where he is going.
