UNF President and singer Eddy Kenzo is the topic of discussion on social media following the surprise news about his paternity and origin.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni made the shocking revelation during the launch of his campaign album at Munyonyo. During his speech, the Fountain of Honor revealed that Eddy Kenzo was the son of former NRA war commander Chefe Ali, whose real name is Mwine Enock.
Eddy Kenzo, while addressing members of the press over the weekend, initially hesitated to address the issue due to its sensitivity. He narrated that his mother came from Rwanda and settled in Masaka, where he was raised.
For the time he lived with his mother, she had a man, the late Hassan, with whom she had children. Even when he was not living with them, Kenzo revealed that he knew he was his father and referred to the children as his brothers and sisters.

Mzee Hassan Kiwalabye passed away in 2012, and he shortly started hearing the stories questioning his paternity. This forced him to dig out the deceased’s remains and carry out a DNA test. To take away all his doubts, the results were not a match.
“I had an idea of the story today, but I wasn’t sure. The time I saw my mother for like five years, she had a man and children. I knew he was my father and I grew up with that. This issue is sensitive because I have grown up with people I call my sisters. Sometime back, I went where I buried my late father Hassan and picked a bone to take it for DNA testing in Dubai. The results weren’t a match. He is still my father because he had children with my mother and that is what I grew up knowing,” he said.
Eddy Kenzo, however, still considers the late Hassan as his father too because he shared a special bond with his mother. He said he is still figuring out his new family and getting to know them.
