Speaking during a recent interview, Da Agent shared experiences from his painful childhood, painting a picture of his journey to success as one built on years of struggle and survival without some of the basic necessities of life.
He revealed that many times, they had to go without food, and when they were lucky to have a meal, they would eat plain food without sauce. Sometimes, when they couldn’t afford food, they resorted to cooking jackfruit seeds just to survive.

“I can tell you about how many times I have gone without food. We ate plain food like matooke and posho without sauce. At one point, we had to survive on jackfruit seeds. We would cook them and eat them like beans. We would go around collecting, cooking, and eating them like beans. Couldn’t afford things like tomatoes and onions. We used to light a candle, and when it was done, we would gather the wax, put a matchstick to light it again just to have light,” Da Agent shared.
Da Agent is hailed as one of the top lugaflow rappers, and despite many seeing the glamorous side of his life, he stressed that he was once at the lowest of the poverty ladder, and life was far from being easy.
