Controversial comedian-turned-pastor Sammy, real name Okanya Sam, has announced the sale of his house following a court order to pay off debts.
Sammy, in his social media video, shared a notice of demand slapped against him under the Judicature Small Claims Procedure by a creditor known as Masika Roshan. He claimed that Sammy took a personal loan amounting to 1,250,000 shillings and gave him a day from the service of this notice of demand to settle the debt.
“If you pay or settle the debt, I will give you a receipt acknowledging settlement of the debt. If you fail to comply with this notice of demand within fourteen days, I will file a claim against you under the Small Claims Procedure to obtain a decree for the amount owed together with the expenses permitted by the court,” reads the notice.
Sammy added that he had other pending court cases, including sneaking a camera into prison, and the case has a tag of Ugx 30 million. He claimed that his mother stood as his court surety, and if he failed to pay or ran away, she would be thrown in jail.

At this point, he claimed he didn’t have any money, and instead, he was putting his house and plot of land up for sale to get the funds to pay his debts. The plot sits at more than 50X100, and he begged his followers to buy it on time before the court forcefully took it over.

“What I have is what will save me. Right now, I do not even have 5 million to pay the lawyer to defend me. Just come and buy my home, please. Do not let them forcefully take my home. Those telling me not to sell should know that I got a court letter summoning me on the 22nd. Cases against me keep piling, and they have evidence,” she said.
