Singer Cindy Sanyu has revealed that she has no plans of walking away from the music industry, noting that her career was just taking shape.
Cindy Sanyu during her interview with BBS TV turned down suggestions of retiring from music, explaining that as artists, they never completely retire from the music industry but rather venture into mentoring, resorting to songwriting, managing which is all forms of retirement.
“We all retire but retirement doesn’t mean leaving the industry. Some people can retire into mentoring, some can retire into writing, into managing; all that can be retirement,” she said.
Cindy Sanyu over the weekend added an international accolade to her collection when she won the category of the best Reggae Dancehall artist with her ‘Nayise Naye’ song at the Basadi In Music Awards in South Africa.
Cindy was the first Ugandan in the four-year history of the awards to win the accolade. She traveled to South Africa for the prestigious event with all expenses paid by the organizers.

At this point in her career, retirement is far from her and with her new found support from the different parts of the continent, she revealed that she is eyeing an African tour.
“It is too early for me to quit everything. It is just the beginning especially with the international recognition, I plan on capitalizing on it. If we can have an African tour next year, that is what I’m looking at right now,” she said.
