Dancehall singer Cindy Sanyu has addressed the long-standing rumor suggesting that she is in an abusive marriage with her husband, Joel Pryce Okuyo.
During a TV interview, Cindy acknowledged that she had heard reports claiming that the leading cause of the misunderstandings in her marriage stemmed from the fact that her husband occasionally beat her.
She denied the allegations, saying they were baseless and untrue, citing that Mr. Okuyo was not violent in nature.
She, however, admitted to having problems in her marriage, just like every other couple, but they have always found ways of settling them. They are currently in a good space and their marriage is flourishing, therefore no need for alarm.
He has never beaten me. In fact, he is not that type of man. All these are just rumours. Every marriage has its own challenges, but we are handling them really well. We are fine.
We are running our family well, and actually, we feel closer than we used to be. The challenging moments happen; Marriage is built on love, and it is never perfect. There are highs and lows; it is not easy for everybody.

This is the second time Cindy’s marriage has been rumoured to be on the rocks, after she recently appeared in public without her wedding rings. In her defense, her ring was stolen by one of her fans during a performance.
