The centre for private health and Social Adjustment Proprietor Dr. Benon Biryahwaho is a happy man one of these days after he cracked a juicy Hepatitis treatment Government deal with Ministry of Health. The former Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI) Top Boss and virologist is walking with his head high after government through ministry of Health officially offered him the deal to test and treat all Hepatitis related cases in Uganda at his health facility located along Gowers Road in Entebbe.
Dr. Benon who spoke exclusively to entebbenews, revealed that he was offered the deal under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Program for Health.
Government through Ministry of Health offered centre for Private Health and social adjustment a deal to test all Hepatitis related cases in Uganda. We have state of the art machines that can carry out the Hepatitis viral Load testing and treatment including HIV/AIDS at a cost of USD32 equivalent of UGX 110,000 which is a reasonably cheaper rate compared to other facilities in Kampala that are expensive. Our facility is open from 8am -6pm six days a week, Dr. Benon revealed.
Hepatitis is a virus that causes liver disease, a condition which can be chronic and lead to liver failure and can be fatal if not detected early. Some of the symptoms include abdominal swelling (swelling of the tummy) and yellow eyes.
