Singer Ava Peace has opened up on how she linked up with Jeff Kiwa, noting that she straight up approached him and asked him to sign her.
Ava Peace, during her YouTube interview, revealed that she grew up admiring Jeff Kiwa for his role in the music industry, saying that he produced some of the greatest talent of his generation.
She made known that it was always her dream to work under Jeff and got a chance to meet him for the first time during her high school days when he contacted another artist and wanted her as a video vixen, and she gathered the courage to tell him. He, however, turned her down, advising her that they would only work together after she had finished her studies.
“I thought to myself that I would tell him when I got the chance. I didn’t care if he had insulted me but I would be content that I told him. I greeted him, told him I was excited to see him and want to work with him. He is scary and I do not know where I got the courage but I do not know how it happened. I was really young; he looked at me and asked me if I knew who he was. He told me to go back to school and go back to him after I was done with school. I imagined if he would accept me after 5 to 6 years from now,” she said.
Fast forward, Ava Peace had graduated from Makerere University in 2023 and already had a hit song in her name, ‘Shabada’. Life and her music career were not moving smoothly, and she was struggling financially.

“I was at Caramel and saw Jeff Kiwa again and remembered what he had told me. I immediately knelt down and greeted me and reminded him about his promise. He asked me about my degree and I told him and he told me we would work on a song together,” she said.
From the time Jeff made the promise to her, Ava Peace revealed that she continued sending him audios of her songs, and to some, he reacted even after months, but to others, he completely ignored her.
