A Kampala-bound bus owned by Swift Safari has overturned in Sheema District in western Uganda and left several passengers injured. Police said the bus registration number UAT 395C hit a road hump and the driver lost control before it overturned at Kitojo in Sheema Municipality (about 25 km from Bushenyi town) on Thursday morning. Former Peruvian President Alan García has died after shooting himself as police arrived at his home to arrest him over bribery allegations. Mr García was rushed to hospital in the capital, Lima. His death was confirmed by current President Martín Vizcarra. A crowd of supporters gathered outside the hospital building, and were held back by a line of police officers. In an unprecedented move, an Israeli company, Together Pharma has been cleared to start growing Marijuana in Uganda by the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA). Its license was approved by UIA on March 18, 2019. “This investment License has been issued under Section 16 of the Investment Code, 1991. Sudan’s ruling military council on Friday promised the country would have a new civilian government, a day after the armed forces overthrew President Omar al-Bashir after 30 years in power.
