The Ugandan Pool Cranes bagged medals in the recently concluded 2019 Africa Pool Championships in Secunda, South Africa. Uganda was represented in both men and ladies categories by 22 Pool Cranes members who jetted back to the country on Tuesday afternoon. Makerere University has finally bowed to pressure from the students and revised the tuition policy, the Nile Post has learnt. The Ivory Tower last week experienced a nasty four-day protest against the 15 percent cumulative tuition policy approved by the university council last year as students protested against the move. President Museveni has ordered military police to withdraw from Makerere University where students are protesting tuition increment. The students have, since last Tuesday, been protesting against 15 percent cumulative tuition increment approved by Makerere’s top governing body, the university council. Police have arrested one Allan Ggayi, who is suspected to be part of a gang that raided Kawempe retail and mobile money shops stealing over 160 telephones. Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says that Ggayi, a resident of Kyanja was intercepted at Bujuuko, along the Kampala –Mityana highway with 160 phones, allegedly stolen from different mobile money operators and retail shops in Kawempe and other towns. Angry residents in Mityana Municipality on Friday afternoon foiled the arrest of area Member of Parliament Hon Francis Zaake, who was holding a meeting at his residence.
