Uganda Police have launched an inquiry into the killing of a Chinese national only identified as Fan. Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, said Fan’s death was brought to police’s attention on Friday morning by his colleague, Zhang Chunmu. Comparitech and security researcher Bob Diachenko have uncovered a database containing more than 267 million Facebook users’ data that was left exposed online, with not even a password preventing unauthorized access to it. The Elasticsearch cluster contained user IDs, phone numbers, and names of mostly US-based users. The General Court Martial sitting at Makindye has sentenced the four people to death by hanging for killing two mobile money operators in Zzana, Wakiso District. Among those sentenced include; two former UPDF soldiers, Private Bob Anichan and Private Dennis Mangusho. Others are Stanley Mulunda and Issa Ntale. A Pakistani court has sentenced former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to death in absentia for treason over his 2007 imposition of emergency rule. Such a verdict is a first in a country with a history of army rule. The military reacted angrily, saying legal process “seems to have been ignored”.
