Uganda has recorded another Covid-19 death after an 80-year-old won an passed on July 24. She was a resident of Mengo, Kisenyi III and had been admitted at Platinum hospital in Kampala after showing symptoms related to the respiratory illness. She was later referred to Mengo hospital for further treatment. This becomes the second death from the disease caused by the coronavirus. The first death, also of a female, occurred in Mbale district on July 21. This was a support staff working at Wasungui health center II in Namisindwa district.

The ministry of health on Thursday confirmed the first death from Covid-19. The ministry says a 34-year-old Ugandan, who resided in Namisindwa District, succumbed to the respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus and was buried today. At first, the ministry had said she was Kenyan but further probe into the matter discovered she was Ugandan. “In our earlier report we had indicated that the deceased was not a Ugandan.
