Airtel Africa has signed a deal with  WorldRemit  to allow customers of both companies to enjoy instant money transfers across the continent.

Airtel Africa is currently operating mobile money services in fourteen African countries, including in DRC, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi and Niger and this will help Africans in the diaspora use WorldRemit to send money back home.

“The connection to more mobile money accounts through Airtel Africa allows us to expand our payout network and options available to customers across the continent,” Andrew Stewart, the managing director of WorldRemit in the Middle East & Africa, was quoted as saying.

“It is really exciting and important to us that we continue to increase financial inclusion for our customers in Africa while delivering a fast, affordable and secure service.”
