Hundreds of mourners today Monday April 13 converged at St. John’s church to bid fare well to the Late Lydia Migayo wife to Frank Migayo a senior principal accountant in the ministry of finance, planning and Economic Development who passed away in Fortis hospital Bangalore India on April 8 where she had been rushed for a brain surgery. In his eulogy Frank Migayo praised Lydia for being an excellent wife and mother and an exemplary Christian who served God wholeheartedly.
“Man is subjected to a test from God and this is one of them. We need to strengthen ourselves and move on because we cannot bring her back” Migayo said.
“We shouldn’t blame God for taking her away because we don’t know the contract she made with God” he added. Migayo thanked his employer Ministry of finance, planning and Economic Development for all the financial and moral support rendered to him in the treatment of his wife.
“Many people have been questioning themselves why I had to rush Lydia to India after my eldest son Dickson who was pursuing a bachelor’s in Commerce also died in India in 2006 after he was overrun by a lorry. But I believe I took her to the right place to save her life” he stressed
“We (children) nicknamed her the mayor of Entebbe because she would greet everyone she met” her eldest daughter Ritah Rukundo told the church packed congregation.
Her other children Derrick and Hillary revealed that she taught them how to love everyone without any discrimination. Her youngest daughter Rachael who was by her side in hospital broke down in tears and couldn’t talk.
Interpol Boss and Vice Chairman FFEMUTA (Family Fellowship and Mutual Trust Association) a Christian Association Assan Kasingye praised Late Lydia Migayo for her good deeds and urged all her friends to pray to God to strengthen her family to overcome the grief.
“We have lost a woman of peace, a woman who was respected and loved. She will be dearly missed. It’s my prayer that Lydia’s good deeds be immortalized. Kasingye said.
Late Lydia Migayo succumbed to brain cancer at the age of 57 and she is survived by four children, two boys and two girls. She operated a cosmetic shop in Kitoro and was Managing Director of Eco Resort Kasenyi a recreation centre. The late Lydia Migayo will be laid to rest in Nyarushangye Rukungiri District tomorrow Tuesday.
