Renowned YouTuber Shalom Kaweesi has opened up about how child neglect led to him being molested at a young age.
During a sit-down interview with fellow YouTuber and former TV host Flavia Namulindwa, Shalom made a shocking revelation: his maternal aunt took advantage of him in his mother’s absence.
He revealed that the ordeal happened during his childhood, but luckily, when his mother found out, she kicked her out of their home.
“The first person who had sexual relations with me was my mother’s sister. Eventually, when my mother got to know about it, she got angry and took her away from our home. But if she hadn’t known about it, it would have gone on and on,” he said.
Shalom related his case to the common habit of parents choosing to focus on providing their children with a comfortable life but, in turn, denying them the attention, time, and emotional support. Shalom Kaweesi.
He further blamed parents for favoring the girl child, abandoning the boys who, he said, have suffered a great deal at the hands of the third party entrusted to protect them, claiming that this act of neglect has exposed young boys to homosexuality.
“Parents focus on looking for money but neglect their children. You only put all your concentration on the girlchild and ignore the boys. Please give your sons more time because they are molesting your children. They are teaching your children homosexuality but because you do not pay attention, you never know,” he said.

In a bid to fight the growing crimes against children, Shalom advised parents to always create time and listen to their children. This, he said, will create a comfortable environment that will encourage them to open up to their parents without fear.
“If my mother had created that bond between us and encouraged me to be open to her, it wouldn’t have happened. People are not paying attention to these things at times because they are busy and get back home tired,” he said.
