Kampala, Uganda | ENTEBBENEWS.NET | Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has appointed Moses Mande Oroto as Head of Business and Institutional Banking, strengthening its leadership as it seeks to deepen its engagement with businesses and institutions across Uganda.
Oroto took up the position in August 2026, joining HFB from Centenary Bank, where he served as Chief Manager, Public Sector, from February 2023.
He brings more than two decades of banking experience spanning corporate, institutional, public sector, SME and commercial banking.
Oroto spent more than 20 years at Centenary Bank, where he held several leadership and operational positions. From 2014 to 2023, he served as Manager, Corporate and Institutional Banking, following earlier roles as Manager, SME Banking; Credit Administrator; Commercial Loans Officer; and Loans Officer.
His experience across different segments of the banking industry comes as HFB seeks to strengthen its relationships with corporate, institutional and business customers and position itself as a long-term financial partner to enterprises.
Business and institutional clients increasingly require financial partners capable of understanding their operational needs and providing solutions that support expansion, investment and sustainable growth.
Oroto said his new role presents an opportunity to build on HFB’s existing capabilities while strengthening partnerships with its business and institutional customers.

HFB said the appointment reflects its focus on strengthening leadership capacity and institutional capabilities while expanding support for businesses and institutions that contribute to Uganda’s economic development.
In his new role, Oroto will focus on enhancing customer-centred solutions, strengthening strategic partnerships and deepening relationships with business and institutional clients.
His experience in business development, strategic leadership and client relationship management is expected to support the bank’s efforts to build long-term partnerships with enterprises and institutions across the country.
The appointment comes as banks increasingly compete to provide tailored financial solutions to businesses, particularly SMEs, corporates and institutions seeking financing and other services to support expansion and investment.
