Media personality and singer Black Sugar has opened up on her broken engagement with musician Amos Lovins, accusing him of using her.
Black Sugar, during her radio show, made it clear that Amos was never in love with her but took advantage of her because of what she could offer. She revealed that he was using her to promote his music business, and she only found out after she went through his phone.
According to Black Sugar, Amos discussed her with his family, who also served as his management. Because they shared phone passwords, she decided to go through his charts in their family WhatsApp group, and what she saw was disappointing.
“Do you know why people keep saying that I was contracted and paid to promote him? It is the narrative his family painted, yet they didn’t tell me. How I wish they had paid me for it. I went through their family WhatsApp chats, and they were abusing me. I didn’t even care about all that, but the man was in support of it. He was backing them up,” Shugar said.
The relationship between Black Sugar and Amos Lovins had long been a subject of public interest. Initially, they came off as a power couple, with Black Sugar supporting Amos Lovins’ music career. However, their relationship faced challenges, including allegations of domestic violence, leading to their breakup shortly after.

Speaking about their engagement on Valentine’s Day, Black Sugar revealed Amos faked it all just to keep her around.
“He was never in love; it was the business. He knew my weakness was that I loved being in love and being loved. I love loudly. I saw this in his phone, and I know people are going to tell me not to embarrass him,” Black Sugar said, promising to release screenshots to back up her statements.
