Singer David Lutalo has addressed the challenges that come with raising children after both parents separate and move on to their next relationships.
Appearing on Spark TV‘s Girlfriends, David Lutalo was tasked to give his view on co-parenting between broken families. As someone who has lived through this experience, Lutalo explained that the most challenging part is the emotional battle that arises when the other party enters a new relationship.
For validation, they may seek to post on social media to show off how fast they have moved on, thereby hurting their previous partners.
In retaliation, especially on the man’s side, they may choose to withdraw from fulfilling their parenting duties, something he says has affected their children.
The major problem here is that when you both go your separate ways, and each of you gets into a new relationship, they may start doing things to hurt the other party. For instance, if they taunt the man and it gets to him, he will also wait for his revenge when the woman asks for help for the children, not knowing that he is hurting the children, too. People take their issues to social media and show the world that they are happy. This has caused major complications.

David Lutalo parted ways with his baby mama, Sharon Walukagga, in 2018 after nearly 15 years together. The two had sired children, and despite the drama surrounding their separation, Lutalo maintained that he had remained a loving father to his kids. He noted that he never involves his children in the drama that happens between him and their mother.
I do not involve my children in stupid things. Do all the drama you want, but my child will always be my child. If my children wish to do anything, I work on it. Personally, I even pick my children up from school, even though we are separated.
