Seven hundred teachers have been targeted to be vaccinated against COVID 19 before schools re-opening up in the country.
This was revealed yesterday by Sarah Nabirye, a senior educationist at the Entebbe municipal council.
The vaccination exercise is starting Tuesday morning to carter for teaching staff and supporting staff from several education centers including nursery, primary, secondary and college teachers.
The vaccination exercise with the ministry of health is starting 8am till 5pm and all teachers are expected to be vaccinated at 3 different vaccination centers including St Joseph primary school Katabi, Kiwafu primary school and Kigungu health center 3.
245 government primary school teachers and 156 secondary school teachers are expected to be vaccinated with hundreds of others from private owned education centers.
“ They mobilized all the head teachers and staff to turn in big numbers in the vaccination exercise before schools re-opening any time from now” said Nabirye
