As of Today Morning, More Heads of State and Delegates from Africa and around the world had jetted in for the inauguration of President Yoweri Museveni.
On Wednesday morning, Tanzanian new President Samia Suluhu was received at Entebbe International Airport as well as Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Suluhu, who was here last month for the East Africa Oil Pipeline Project launch, joins 10 other Heads of State, most of whom arrived yesterday, for the event that is taking place at the Kololo Independence Grounds.
Later at 10am, President Uhuru Kenyatta from neighboring Kenya arrived as well.
Speaking this morning from Entebbe, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Hon Ephraim Kamuntu revealed that the arrival of such a big number of Heads of State and delegates from around the world showed their utmost respect for President Museveni.
“For all these presidents to leave what they have been doing in their countries to come and honour our invitation, its show what level of respect they have for the country and the President,” He said.
“And even talking to them, everyone was commending President Museveni on two accounts; one, as great leader of international stature while others referred to him as the “Bismarck of Africa.”
“They the completed appreciate him. Today is indeed a great day in history.”
Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame is not attending and has sent his Minister of State of East African Community Hon. Prof. Manasseh Nshuti to represent him.
From outside Africa, delegates have also arrived from China, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Russia.
