Outgoing mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul is roaring like tiger after his rival pointing fingers at him over dirty staining his name following the mayoral elections in Entebbe.
Kayanja on Thursday morning called a press meeting to ‘fire back’ at mayoral elect Fabrice Rulinda Brad after sending him a letter from his lawyers under the Kaddu & Partners Advocates.
The warning letter with intentions to sue is dated 16th April 2021 and signed by city lawyers on behalf of their client by the names of Fabrice Rulinda.
Kayanja told the media that Mr. Rulinda rigged the mayoral elections with inflated shocking results and announced by the Wakiso district electoral commission returning officer one Tolbert Musinguzi.
The letter was written to the incumbent to stop ‘black painting’ mayoral elect Rulinda’s name and the false statements running over several media platforms.
“You have continuously uttered false statement imputing commission of crimes by our client with intent to injure his reputation and these false malicious statements which are circulating on social media platforms have indeed damaged out client’s reputation and credibility in the eyes and minds of good and reasonable members of society hence adversely affecting his personal life and business”., reads part of the letter.
Kayanja revealed in the press meeting, that Rulinda ‘engineered’ his own results to be in the lead and yet earlier results put him in the 4th position after scoring 2825votes as the incumbent scored 5672votes.
And the following morning, results to ‘put’ mayoral elect Rulinda in the lead after doctoring results at different polling station including the central ward were 1373 votes were inflated from 98votes
Other mayoral contestant included former parliamentarian Muhammad Kawuma(550votes),Micheal Kabwama Mutebi(5257votes,Muwonge Gerald(6votes),Oliver Nassuna(2623votes),Ssimbwa Kenneth(47votes) with total invalid votes(166),total cast votes(16980) and overall total votes(17146).
Kayanja said during the press conference that is yet taking legal action to contest mayor elect Fabrice Rulinda Brad over the false results that put him in the lead.
“The public is waiting to witness their political drama following all the comics that were down played by the district electoral commission where money exchanged hands in different offices” said Kayanja.
