A boda boda rider who was shot by a security guard at Equatorial Mall this Easter Monday has succumbed to his wounds.
“He has been confirmed dead,” said Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire revealed.
Morris Opedunu, a security gaurd with Pinnacle Security was today arrested over the shooting incident that occurred at 6:30 PM at Equatorial Shopping Mall, Kampala.
It is alleged that after the shooting incident, fellow riders whisked the victim away before dropping the body at fuel station in Kanyanya.
Police have conveyed the body to city mortuary Mulago for Postmortem.
The gun allegedly used in the shooting was recovered with 4 rounds of ammunition and a catridge.
Cases of security guards opening fire at civilians have been on the rise in recent years.
