    Aruu MP Odonga-Otto Arrested Over Illegal Gun

    Aruu County Member of Parliament, Hon.  Samuel Odonga-Otto has reportedly been arrested by officers from Uganda Police Criminal Investigations Department.

    Odonga was picked from Bomah Hotel gym spa by officers led by DCIID, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Francis Olugu

    Juliet Otto the MP’s wife confirmed the arrest while speaking to news reporters. She said her husband is currently being held in CID Headquarters in Kibuli

    But Mrs. Otto claims the charges have no legal basis.

    “They are accusing him of having a gun illegally yet he has already returned the gun to them,’’ said Mrs. Otto

    The case of Assault relates to a 2019 incident in which a Gulu based Radio Journalist, a one Geoffrey Okot accused the legislator of assaulting him when he had gone to cover a football match between the Acholi Province and West Nile

    Odonga-Otto, who recently lost his Parliamentary seat, has come out to say that all these cases against him are politically motivated.
