There is a lease of life back in the football-mad West Nile region, Arua City.
Forget the politics that has just concluded, the football wing has harvested immensely with the biggest brand on the land – Onduparaka Football Club the latest beneficiary.
Just hours after renewing their sponsorship contract with telecommunications giants MTN Uganda, marriage vows have been said with a fresh partner – AbaBet.
AbaBet officially unveiled their partnership with Onduparaka, hitherto branded as the Caterpillars as the official shirt and stadium sponsors.
The betting firm has offered Shs. 625,000,000 for a period of three years, a deal announced at Mestil Hotel in the heart of the Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
According to the deal signed, AbaBet will brand the main front part of the re-designed Onduparaka shirt and has renamed the club’s home venue as the AbaBet Green Light Stadium.
Prince Kangume Pickton, the marketing director of AbaBet appreciated the cordial relation with Onduparaka as he envisages a long lasting relationship.
“We are humbled to associate and work with Onduparaka Football Club, the biggest club in West Nile and commands a big following among Uganda’s clubs. We hope to grow with the brand and look forward a long lasting affair” Kangume stated.
Onduparaka was ably represented by a big delegation led by the chairman Benjamin Nyakuni, Mercy Munduru (Onduparaka marketing officer), Chief Executive Officer (Edison Sabasaba) and head coach Villai Bainomugisha.
Munduru commended AbaBet for the bold decision to work with them and reechoed their willingness to repay the fair vested in them.
“We are appreciative of the partnership acquired with AbaBet. We vow to play the best football, work with the fans and never disappoint the brand of the sponsors” Munduru disclosed.
Onduparaka will host Busoga United in their next league fixture on Friday, 12th February 2021.
