    45 Arrested at Singer Walukaga’s Residence for Flouting Covid-19 SOPs

    Police in Nsangi has arrested 45 suspects found at Singer Mathias Walukaga’s residence for violating Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, police, at around 12 am on Tuesday night, carried out an operation at the home of Mathias Walukaga located in Maya Sub County Wakiso District, after tip-off.

    “We got information that a group of people had gathered at Mathias Walukaga’s home for a reason not yet known. 45 suspects were subsequently arrested for doing negligent acts likely to spread an infection,” Owoyesigire said.

    Most of the suspects, Police revealed, are residents of Kawempe Division and they are currently detained at Nateete and Nsangi Police Stations.

    Owoyesigire further revealed that the police personnel didn’t arrest Walukaga because he took off and hid in his house after seeing the officers.

    “Walukaga wasn’t arrested since upon seeing the officers, he ran into his house. The suspects are being processed and will be arraigned in courts of law at any time,” he added.
