
The political tempers are flaring and heating up day by day ahead of the 2021 scientific general elections in Entebbe.
And 3months to the elections, politicians are fighting left and right to sweet talk the electorates to vote them into office for service delivery.
The political storm is under way and politicians in the greater Entebbe region are warming up to contest for different offices including the incumbent.
The political matrix is attracting several candidates to contest at different levels from local councils to parliamentary offices.
Word reaching our desk has it that two political strong holds will be tussling it out and fighting back to win the electorates heart with new political faces under the people power wave.
The duo includes Hon Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako of the ruling massive party NRM and Mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul of the democrats. The two will be put on litmus test ahead of the 2021 general scientific elections, scheduled for early next year.
Tumusiime will be contesting for another term in office having lost the ruling party primaries to one Stephen Shyka Gashaija now carrying the NRM party for the parliamentary race. The parliamentary race has attracted several other candidates including Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa(NUP),Nabatta Joyce Namuli(IND),Abubaker Walusimbi(FDC),Salongo Kale Micheal(DP),Seryazi Wilberforce(ANT) and several others we are yet identifying.
The mayoral race has attracted several different political faces including outgoing Div ‘A’ chairperson Micheal Kabwama Mutebi(NRM), former parliamentary Muhamed Kawuma(IND),Fabrice Rulinda(IND),Olivia Nassuna(NUP),Ken Simbwa(ANT) and others we are yet identify.
Mayor Kayanja will be at the front line as the electorates dictate his bounce back for 3rd term after serving two terms as new faces are also eye-ing for the same seat.
In related development, the democrats have embarked on community drives to win the electorates heart ahead of the 2021 general scientific elections. The mayor with councilors on Friday had an engagement and clean-up campaign at the Entebbe central market.
