Former Wakiso Resident District Commissioner Eng. Ian Kyeyune has bounced back in the game to contest for district seat.
The former district government executive is back in action to uproot the current district chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika also staunch democrat. This was revealed at the late Joyce Nabulime vigil recently in Entebbe.
Kyeyune is back into political to contest for the district with several others including the district speaker Simon Nsubuga,Masulita Mayor Moses Mayanja plus others as Matia Bwanika term in office expires a head of time. Kyeyune’s lengthy political history is pushing him back to politics to contest with political amateurs having been on ‘katebe’ for the last couple of years out of active politics.
He has closely worked with government to the expectations of the Wakiso people that can still bank of him. In 2009, Kyeyune felt like quitting politics when angry residents rioted and socked him in dust over poor roads. The embarrassing news reached the office of president over government putting a deaf ear to the district development.
Eng Ian Kyeyune pushed several government projects including the construction of the Namulanda market with 108 stalls that has now into a youth market.In 2016, Kyeyune urged government to increase more funding for urban centers under the theme “Participation for Sustainable Urban Development”, a lessons that was drawn from municipal development forums and urban agenda. Kyeyune is contesting on the NRM party ticket with a few new political faces.
