Nakiwogo Market Traders and Vendors are bitter with the local authorities over putting deaf ear as floods are washing away their properties and items. This follows a call to several government organs and agencies to bail-out the traders and vendors from the floods that have become a problem to the extent of evicting them and closing their businesses. The traders have forwarded their complaints to different offices and waiting for response. And one person that has responded positively to the outcry is FDC party candidate Abubaker Walusimbi and Entebbe Mp hopeful. The honorable ‘to be’ on Thursday hired trucks of soil to fill up the flooded area  under  threat before the whole market area is washed away. “It’s a pity that the municipal council has not come to the traders’ rescue” said Patrick Gyagenda. He revealed that the local authorities have been visiting the traders with  no immediate solution yet they have the necessary logistics including trucks which can be of help in ferrying soil to fill up the flooded area before being washed away. In related development ,Kampala Capital City Authority has released a report on climate-change  about  Entebbe Municipality. The report highlighted that  the perception of  stakeholders vary about  flood occurrence in the municipality and it’s a not serious challenge. There is anecdote evidence to suggest  that a larger section of the municipality is a wetland and therefore ,flooding is inevitable. Areas close  to Lake Victoria such Kitubulu and all parishes close the Lake shores frequently experience floods. With the increasing encroachment on wetlands and land use.The report indicated that the changing water levels have heavily impacted on the communities around the landing sites who are majorly involved in fishing activities.
