Police in Entebbe is hunting down for a UPDF Soldier identified as Maj. Noel Mwesigye who beat up a one Peter Kirunda a Uganda Rugby Union (URU) referee last week on Wednesday. The SFC Soldier allegedly assaulted Kirunda near Amazon Bar late in the night on Wednesday after he claimed that he saw him taking pictures of his car. A source privy to the incident revealed that Maj. Noel Mwesigye pounced on Kirunda and beat him up thoroughly and left him oozing blood with a swollen face and stomach. The poor fella was rushed to Entebbe Grade B Hospital after he sustained several Injuries.
Sources at Entebbe Police Station revealed that an assault case was reported under SD Ref 27/09/06/17. We have highly established that Kirunda Peter is receiving more treatment at his mum’s residence in Jinja for the injuries he sustained.
Meanwhile we have highly established that Maj. Noel Mwesigye is burning on Katebe one of these days after he was suspended over beating up his wife. The UPDF Soldier is known for being rowdy and served in Somalia under the AMISOM Peace keeping mission.
The Entebbe OC CIID Zachariah Mbabazi declined to comment on the incident indicating that the matter hasn’t yet reached his office.
