    Hundreds of Mourners from all walks of life converged at St. John’s Parish Church Entebbe to bid farewell to Doreen Tashobya, a daughter to Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Rose Tumusiime whose life was suddenly cut short after an Isuzu heavy duty truck registration number UAP 872J Knocked her dead together with the Boda Boda rider identified as Businge Patrick in the early morning hours on Tuesday at Muzinga park a few meters away from State House.

    Family, relatives, friends, several Members of Parliament and people from all walks of life fought back tears as Doreen Tashobya and Patrick Businge, a foster child of the Tumusiime family were eulogized.

    Edward Tumusiime Junior, described his departed little sister as a pretty little girl who did and accomplished big things.

    “She was my partner in crime; we shared and did everything together. She was the sweet little, zungu girl that I protected so much as a big brother. She was very exceptional in her life. I remember when we used to fight for the front car seat and toys. Doreen helped me when I got born again. She is now no more,Edward Tumusiime Junior said as he fought back tears.

     

    Liz, described her little sister as a loving girl who touched every one’s life.

    “This is a very big test for us as Tumusiime family. The Devil is a liar, the devil is ashamed because Doreen’s passing won’t scare us. She was a loving girl who touched everyone’s lives. She was an entrepreneur; she owned a mobile money business and women’s accessories shop. My birthday is next week, Doreen was organizing it for me, but I’m happy that both her soul and our late Dad’s are with the lord, Liz remarked.

    Enos Tugume also described her departed little sister as an organized girl who knew each one’s birthday.

    “She knew all our birthday’s and always reminded us. She was an organized girl who loved God,Enos remarked.

    Grandfather Robert Bikaako (Rose Tumusiime’s dad) described her granddaughter as a sweet loving girl whom she will miss. He urged the mourners to pray for Rose Tumusiime so that God grants her the courage and strength to go through the trying times.

     

     

     

     

     

    Meanwhile the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kale Kayihura, a relative to Rose Tumusiime urged the mourners to comfort Rose Tumusiime throughout the trying times.

    “We are with you Rose, your loss is our loss. Life is a struggle, you have been tested and I believe God is building you for greater things,Gen. Kale Kayihura remarked.

    Police Traffic Boss Steven Kasiima who also attended the service revealed that according to eyewitnesses Doreen Tashobya and Patrick Businge were killed by a speeding lorry Truck owned by Fred Sekimpi a resident of Rubaga Division in Kampala. He however indicated that the Driver abandoned the vehicle and vanished after the accident.

    The Rubaga Miracle Center Pastor Robert Kayanja hailed Rose Tumusiime for raising God fearing children who have and are doing great work.

    “Doreen was a member of the ‘Version 86’ a group of young people around the country aimed at improving the social welfare of fellow youth. She is not dead but alive and we need to praise the lord in moments like these Pastor Robert Kayanja remarked.

    The Wakiso Woman MP and minister for Primary Education Hon. Rose Mary Sseninde described Rose Tumusiime as a person of the people who has quickly made friends in Parliament.

    “Several MP’s have turned up to stand with Rose Tumusiime during the trying times because for the few weeks she has spent in parliament she has made several friends. She has gone through a lot and let’s all pray for her to win the court case. First Lady Janet Museveni hasn’t been able to come but she has sent a condolence message of Shs5m, Hon. Rose Sseninde remarked.

    The Entebbe Municipality RDC Rose Mary Kirabira thanked God for the lives of Doreen and Patrick and urged the mourners to pray for them.

    “Let’s thank God For Doreen and Patrick’s lives, it’s a hard moment for all of us but we need remain firm because God gives and takes away RDC Kirabira remarked.

    Paul Mucunguzi who represented Akamai Holding where Doreen worked described her as a loving girl who had an infectious smile and zeal for work.

    In her eulogy Hon. Rose Tumusiime described her last born as a girl with a beautiful heart, face who loved beauty and always took risks.

    I thank God for the 24 beautiful years God has given Doreen to me. She was my darling daughter, sweet angel and my message to all of you is treasure every child that comes to you. I’ve been a ‘super star’ in the family very strong hearted but Doreen broke me down, Hon. Tumusiime told the mourners.

    She added;

    Mine is a real testimony because in 2012 I lost a sister, in 2013 I lost my late husband Edward Gumizamu Tumusiime , in 2014 I lost my mum but I’m more than a conqueror. Satan is a liar and loser and no matter what I’ll always put my trust in God. I’m happy that all my kids are God fearing.

    She hailed Patrick Businge a foster child who has grown up in her family.

    Patrick has been a child in the home doing all kind of house chores. Patrick looked after us and I pray that God strengthens his family because he has been so exceptional, Hon. Tumusiime further remarked.

    Our home along queen’s road is the United States of Entebbe because people from all walks of life have lived with us. To my late husband’s friends thank you so much for the support. Releasing Doreen and Patrick from mind and heart will be hand, She continued.

    She narrated how she narrowly collided with two Boda Bodas on the fateful day Doreen and Patrick died. Rose Tumusiime called for the need to enforce the use of helmets like in Rwanda. She thanked President Museveni who paid her a visit today at her residence. She also thanked the Deputy RDC Rose Kirabira and the entire NRM Party for their support. The Late Doreen Tashobya will be laid to rest in Kasambya village, Gomba District on Friday while Patrick Businge will be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Kyenjojo District.

    Born 7th September 1992 to the late Edward Gumizamu Tumusiime and Hon. Rose Tumusiime. Grew up in their modest home at plot 6, queen’s road. She was the last born of the large Tumusiime family.

    She went to Entebbe Kindergarten School for her daycare and nursery.

    She went to Entebbe Education Center for her primary Education and joined St. Lawrence, Horizon and London Campuses for her ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level.

    She went to Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Transport & Logistics Management.

    She had started a Mobile Money Business which had been running for the last two years. She also run a boutique dealing in ladies accessories and had intentions of opening up a restaurant next month. At the time of her demise she was employed at a Akamai Holdings located in Entebbe Town.

     

    RIP DOREEN,   RIP PATRICK.
