Entebbe Municipality aspiring Member of Parliament Rose Tumusiime has bashed her haters who have continuously criticized her for lacking the stamina and potential to be a Member of Parliament. Rose Tumusiime who was addressing a campaign rally in Lunyo zone, Entebbe Municipality on Wednesday lashed out at her haters who claim that she has nothing to show for all the 25 years she has served as a councilor.
Many people are spreading lies that I’ve nothing to show for all the 25 years I’ve served as a councilor. First I was instrumental in the establishment of the Uganda Women’s Effort To Save Orphans (UWESO) and through the association I helped more than 20 orphans get skills and training in different fields, Tumusiime said.
She added:
I participated actively in the establishment of The Aids Support Organization (TASO) in Entebbe and through the organization we have continuously helped HIV/AIDS patients’ access treatment and counseling. I’ll lobby for more funds to purchase drugs in hospitals and in different health facilities because residents keep complaining of lack of drugs and non-availability of health workers. Many residents have now resorted to seeking medical attention in Army health facilities because they are well facilitated.

On the question of unemployment she promised to work with different stakeholders such as the United Nations and UN Habitat that will train the youth in different skills to start their own jobs. She also promised to work with the different investors in Entebbe to give priority to the residents when employment opportunities arise.
The youth today need to be trained to change their mind set and start creating their own jobs because many of them are on the streets with nothing to do. I’ll work with different stakeholders to have an innovation fund in place that will supplement the shs2m that government pledged to donate to small groups at every village, she stressed
She promised to fight for the rights of widows who are victims of family wrangles and disputes. She pledged to avail them with lawyers to help them sort out their legal battles in courts of law.
She pledged to provide pupils in UPE Schools with lunch because majority of them miss classes due to hunger. She also promised to fight for teacher’s rights and also support Buganda Kingdom programs.
