The Africa union Border Program (AUBP) in partnership with all African governments will embark on a campaign to survey all the borders in a bid to reduce and further end land related conflicts between neighboring countries. Addressing a one day workshop on ending land related conflicts in Africa that was held at the Entebbe Imperial Botanical Hotel last week, the minister of state for urban planning Rose Mary Najjemba urged all African countries to work together to ensure that the border surveying is a success.
“I would like to urge all African countries to embrace the border surveying project because it will reduce and further end land conflicts between countries. A case in point which all of you are aware of is when Uganda and Kenya almost went to war over the Migingo Island. Minister Najjemba stated.
The Ethiopian Land surveying and Titles Boss Aguibou Diarrah also called on all African countries to embrace the project which is expected to start soon.
Other African countries that attended the workshop included Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
