Singer Lyto Boss is back on the streets to resume his music gigs after surviving Kigo Prison Cells where he has been languishing since Wednesday last week after he was arrested by undercover cops at Tosha Petrol station in Makerere/Kivulu zone following issuance of numerous warrant of arrest to apprehend him. The poor man was arrested like a grass hopper by police cops for allegedly conspiring with bummy singer Catherine Kusasira to dupe fusion Records Shs1m meant for a song entitled “Ajangala”. He was arraigned before Entebbe Grade one court magistrate Beatrice Kainza on Monday who granted him bail after his lawyer Arthur Mpeirwe fought tooth and nail to have the young promising singer out of Kigo Prison Dungeon. He was released on a cash bail of Shs 500,000 while his two sureties Betty Namuddu and Robert Sentamu were granted a non-cash bail of Shs 1m. He is expected back in court on September 26, 2015 for further hearing.
Shortly after being freed Lyto Boss rubbished all the allegations and vowed to bring down Singer Iryn Namubiru Fusion Band Recording Manager and Water Front Beach Boss John Kassami before the year ends after making him suffer in jail. Police cops confiscated several placards that Lyto Boss’ supporters had planned to use in their demonstration at the court premises to show their anger and bitterness towards Iryn Namubiru and John Kassami for making the singer suffer with no case.
Charles Kabogoza one of his supporters indicated that Lyto Boss whose real name is Derrick Katongole has never received the Shs1m cash for the “Ajangala” song and that there was no evidence that he received the court summons.
Kabogoza indicated that Iryn Namubiru stole the “Ajangala” song from Lyto Boss and never paid him a single coin.
“When Kusasira got the Ajangala song from Lyto Boss, she tried it out and failed. She later contacted her friend Iryn Namubiru to try it out but told her that the song belonged to a one Lyto Boss. She tried out the song and went ahead and released it on the music charts minus paying Lyto Boss dime for his efforts” he revealed.
Kabogoza added that Iryn Namubiru will be sued in the high court for theft, malicious damage and losses to New Article Entertainment Company where Lyto Boss is signed. “New Article Entertainment Company made losses because several concerts were cancelled due to Lyto Boss incarceration” he stated.
Lyto Boss’ lawyer indicated that all those behind his woes will be brought to book and will face justice.
Kusasira who was first to be arrested over the matter has since fallen out with Iryn Namubiru and accused her of playing a dirty game to dump her in Kigo Prison where she spent a night.
“Kassami used to give money to bring international artists to Water Front Beach this angered Iryn Namubiru who thought that I was sleeping with her man. My business with Kassami was purely professional” Kusasira told entebbenews early this month at Entebbe Magistrate court.
