    36 FDC Katonga members who were recently arrested in Kenya and returned home have been remanded to Luzira.

    The group was on Monday morning arraigned before the Nakawa chief magistrate’s court  and charges related to terrorism read against them.

    They were consequently remanded to prison until August, 13.

    Last week, the group, which included 33 men and 3 women, was apprehended at the Ukweli Pastoral Leadership Center in Nakuru, Kenya, under allegations of engaging in suspicious political activities.

    FDC Katonga faction recently announced its intention to take legal action against the Kenyan and Ugandan governments following the arrest and deportation of 36 of its members in Kenya.

    The acting Secretary General of FDC Katonga, Harold Kaijja, condemned the arrest and subsequent handover of their members to Uganda’s External Security Organisation (ESO) and said they would take legal action.
