Today, 1 January, marks the first day of the new year 2026. Ushered in last night at the New Year’s Eve, partiers celebrated in different ways, with some at churches, while others at nightclubs and bars.

Several celebrities have taken to their social media platforms to reflect on their 2025 achievements and set goals for the new year 2026.

As 2025 comes to an end, my heart is full of gratitude. This year changed me in so many ways. Releasing my debut studio album, THE ONE AND ONLY, was a dream come true. Every song carries a piece of my journey, my growth, my fears, and my faith in the process.

    LYDIA JAZMINE

Traveling for The One And Only album media tours in Rwanda and Kenya, meeting new audiences, and sharing my story beyond Uganda was truly special. Collaborating with artists from across Africa, performing on different stages, and watching my music cross borders affirmed my purpose and deepened my love for this craft.
The recognition, love, and support I received this year deeply humbled me and pushed me to keep growing. To my fans, you are the reason all of this matters. Thank you for streaming the music, showing up to shows, sharing my work, and standing by me with such loyalty and love. You believed in me even on the days I doubted myself.

Blessed are those who have made it to this new year. As we embark on this journey, I want to remind those who choose to turn a blind eye to the injustices happening in our country: the brutalities you see on your social media feeds are not distant issues. They are real and happening right now, affecting someone somewhere—perhaps far from you —but if we continue to ignore them, they will inevitably draw closer. Before long, it could be your neighbor facing these harsh realities.
Fighting for your country is not just a privilege; it is an expectation that comes with our citizenship. On January 15th, I urge you to be part of the change you wish to see. Go out and vote against a system that brutalizes its citizens in broad daylight and evades accountability. Those stray bullets fired at unarmed civilians could one day threaten someone you hold dear if we fail to defend democracy and justice.
Praying for you my friend Chalie Muvax , and all political prisoners. I thank you too for your bravery. Choosing to stand in the line of fire to protect what you believe in. You’re the best thing that happened to our country Uganda 🇺🇬 this year. I pray for a better 2026.

To the Fans, Sponsors & Brand Partners!
As we closed 2025 and stepped into a brand new year, I want to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the fans — your love, energy, and unwavering support throughout 2025 meant everything. Every stream, every cheer, every message kept the fire burning and pushed the music to greater heights.
To the sponsors and brands I had the honor of working with in 2025, thank you for believing in the vision and walking this journey with me. Your trust and partnership made many milestones possible, and I truly appreciate the support.
As we enter this new year, I look forward to continuing and growing these relationships, creating more impact, more music, and more moments together. I ask for even more love, support, and belief as we move forward — the journey is far from over, and the best is still ahead.
Wishing you all a blessed, prosperous, and successful New Year.
    Much love always

    RITAH DANCEHALL

2025 taught me the hardest lessons of my entire life — no.
    PAIN.
But thank you, pain, for the growth
I’m still fighting a war I honestly can’t explain… but regardless, we move.
10 months down the road and no change lol — but I’m still standing.
All I can preach is this: we need pain to grow.
Wallahi, sometimes people who are too good just get used
And those we label as “bad” — the so-called bad girls, prostitutes, LGBTQ+ community, and all the names people throw around — trust me, they were once good people too.
    Let’s stop judging
Because it takes the strongest souls to stay solid and REAL after all the trauma, depression, sleepless nights, endless tears, loneliness, self-hate, shutting yourself away for days, zero appetite … bruh, it’s tough.
God, your girl is blessed to still be among the real ones no matter what
I pray for strength and the wisdom to know who deserves space in my life.
2026 and the coming years — I choose to love, cherish, and marry myself until further notice
    Happy New Year, BIG DOGz
