Comedian Reign Omusoyisoyi of comedy duo Maulana and Reign has released a campaign song for Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine, despite being denied a political card.
Reign Omusoyisoyi, real name Obed Lubega, had plans to contest the Lubaga South MP seat under the National Unity Platform (NUP).
However, he was denied the party ticket despite his efforts, including distributing campaign posters, particularly in the Lubaga constituency.
Unlike other members who chose to go independent to actualize their political goals, Reign took a bold step, rallying behind Bobi Wine.
In the campaigning song, he praises Bobi Wine for being the driving force behind the youths’ desire for change. He described him as Uganda’s only hope for not only a better Uganda but also the creative industry.
This came as a surprise to many who hailed Reign for being loyal and supporting his party despite not being granted the chance to contest.
