Musician Lydia Jazmine, born Lydia Nabawanuka, has dismissed reports suggesting that she relies on men for financial support.
Speaking in a YouTube interview, Lydia Jazmine spoke against the stereotypes, claiming that women, especially in the music industry, rely on men for financial support. She acknowledged looking good and dressing well, before watering down claims of men funding her fancy lifestyle.
The sultry singer emphasized that she worked hard for her money and lived an independent life, contrary to what social media believes.
“Which man, because I take care of myself. I’m a woman who works hard and has earned her money. I do not need a man to take care of me; he adds to what I have. He empowers me,” she said.

Lydia Jamzine further expressed her disappointment and frustration towards the general misconceptions of undermining women’s efforts despite years of hard work. She clarified that while having a man in a woman’s life is not a bad thing, it should not always be linked to financial support, emphasizing that sometimes men are simply for companionship, not dependence.
“You should stop disrespecting women. For all the years I have worked, I can surely sustain myself. Just like men want women who give them peace, we also want to be with people whose role is to give us peace and comfort. We are hardworking women. If there is a man in your life and he has the money, he adds onto what you have, but we don’t depend on men,” she said.
Lydia Jazmine refused to discuss her love life or reveal if she was in a relationship. She admitted that if she ever settled down and decided to get married officially, her fans would know about her functions.
