Musician Jose Chameleone has revealed that he penned his hit song ‘Badilisha’ from his life experience with his baby mama Daniella Atim.
Jose Chameleone, during a media interview in Rwanda, explained that the song addressed the situation he was putting Daniella through when they had just married in 2008.
The Leone Island boss said he used to go out every night for shows and return in the morning. This left him with no time to spend with his wife and children, significantly affecting his marriage.
He stressed that at one point, Daniella complained about the habit and suggested she’d go back to her father’s house because the marriage wasn’t working out. But even with her complaints, Chameleone refused to change.

One fateful day, he came back at 9 AM and found her sweeping the compound. He rushed to bed, but when he woke up, his wife was seated by the bedside, crying about his constant behaviour.

Out of guilt, he ran back to the studio that day and made the famous song that has traversed countries.
“There is a time when I used to be very stubborn at home. I used to live as if I were not married. I went out for shows and came back very late in the morning. That happened so many times. One day, I returned in the morning and found Maama Abba sweeping the compound. She welcomed me back at 9 in the morning. When I woke up, she was seated on the bedside, looking at me and just crying. I felt so guilty, and I couldn’t stay home. I ran back to the studio with my friends. When I was singing Badilisha, I thought it was her feeling. This is what I saw in her eyes,” he said.
