US-based beautician and influencer Jalia Walda has opened up on a near-death experience caused by a family member.
Jalia Walda was recently in Uganda for her mother’s wedding, and in her TikTok live, she shared how she narrowly survived being poisoned. In her revelation, Jalia revealed that during her last days in the country, a close family member, whom she didn’t name, gave her food.
Fortunately, before she ate, she allegedly received a phone call from a boda guy, warning her not to consume the food as it had been laced with poison. This was a big shock to her, and it greatly affected her for several days.
“When I was leaving Uganda, someone tried to poison me, and it is the grace of God that saved me. Imagine getting a call from a boda guy telling me not to eat the food because there was something in there. I was about to eat this food, but I was warned. I left Uganda, and my mental health in the past few days has not been okay,” she said while crying.
Jalia’s revelation came as she was opening up about the betrayal from some of her family members, who she says do not wish her well. Discussing her brother in particular, she explained how she kept opening up different businesses for him, but it turned out to be a waste of money. She resorted to funding his stay in the UK, but was disappointed when he resorted to social media to tarnish her name.

“I opened for him a shoe business, a phone business, a restaurant; he just kept wasting my money. Even when the businesses didn’t work out, I would still open for him.
When I questioned him about it, he told me I should take him to the UK. I invested money and sent him there, but when he got there, he did the same thing. He came to the internet wanting to destroy my life. I wouldn’t have done all that if I weren’t a good person,” she said.
