Musician David Lutalo has revealed that he doesn’t consider his concerts to be money-making ventures, but somewhat promotional events and a means of building brand awareness.
At his prime, David Lutalo has had a concert almost every beginning of the year. Speaking in one of the interviews, he noted that musicians invest a lot of money in concerts, and the proceeds are not pleasing.
With this, he concentrates more on the promotion process of the concert because the adverts keep musicians in their fans’ faces.
This promotion raises awareness of their brands and helps them secure more gigs and bookings from other shows, ultimately increasing their revenue.

“Ever since I entered the music industry, I have been making shows. This is because I do not look at it as a money-making venture. I see it in the sense that the time you spend on promotion cannot be gotten back any other time. For that month that you are advertising, everyone and every media house is focusing on you. It pushes your name so much. That was my main aim in staging concerts. At this time, when you look at the money you invest, you cannot easily get it back unless the investment is successful, and you earn from other sources.
That is, every time you promote me poorly, I get angry. Because my image is my main goal. Money is given to us by promoters and you have to pay it back. In the end, there is no money. But as long as you’re still on the map, you can make money and achieve more. So, invest in your own music,” David Lutalo said.
